FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, N.C. has five new equipment locator’s. The hospital employees four Tug Robots and one Homer Robot made by Aethon, Inc.
The robots which move on wheels navigate the corridors by dead reckoning and lasers, relaying on blueprints in their memory. The robots equipment with wireless technology are able to call for elevators, communicate with their home base as to their location, and call for help if necessary.
All five robots are equipped with RFID antennas and ping equipment while they go about making their rounds and deliveries. Once the robots return to their home base the equipment locations are updated in the equipment server.
