So what is it with the surgical tape?
Today I spent about a half an hour cleaning surgical tape residue off of a patient monitor display, because some nurse taped surgical tape accross the display a big “BROKEN” written on it. Mind you the only thing wrong with the unit was it needed a cuff (which the nurses have in their supply closet). I know you have all gone through this, many many many times. So can you explain to me why educated smart people keep putting surgical tape on medical equipment.
How much time do you spend weekly cleaning surgical tape off of equipment? Next time some administrator wants justification for overtime or a new hire…. have ‘em try getting the goop off the equipment.
